Ambulance Fatal accident with pic of rig !! God be with them. What is your take on these sites ????

for accident pics go to www.rehobothbeachfire.com. make sure to go to gallery #7. while you are at this site look around there are some good stories. another site kinda messed up with decap, fire, limb loss you get the picture is rotten .com. please give me you input on these sites for tranning with new members into ems for a heads up to what they are getting into.

Comment by Sarah Mueller on April 8, 2009 at 7:01pm: When I frist started EMS i went to these sites Voluntarily to educate myself for the exact reason Joanne metioned above- I was very young and had never been exposed to the types of things i would/could see in this field- I think it helped me very much to see in pictures what i might potentially see in the field- it helps to almost desensitize you or your students to some of the most impressive or distracting types of injuries/illnesses so that when they are faced with them, they dont become so distaracted and will still be able to appropriately treat the patient. So often some of the most impressive injuries may not be the most life threatening but we can become drawn to what LOOKS bad we forget about what else may be going on under the surface....i'm sure this happens to everyone from time to time, but seems to most likely occur in fresh new medics/firefighters who lack experience....that all being said, i think that with proper warning to your classes pictures from those sites can be extremely useful in education-
