A One, Anna Two, Anna Three!

Erstwhile Firefighter: OK, Ma'am, we're gonna pick you up on your count of three!

RevMedic: (Thinking to myself) Why does SHE have to do the counting? (The concept that he, as a firefighter, was incapable of doing so, did not strike me until just now).

EF: One, Two, Three! (Lifts the LOL up onto her feet) I guess I did the counting, huh?

A moment later, the patient safely strapped onto the gurney & ready to be lifted to the 'load'… Continue

Bearing Witness

Last night was a bad one.

It's been 20 years since the last time I've had to deal with that type of trauma - physical and emotional.

A life cut short way too soon.

I saw, heard, and felt things that the average, normal person should never have to encounter.

We were first in on a horrible tragedy. On assessing the patient it became painfully evident that there was absolutely nothing we could do, try to do, hope to do, to reverse the… Continue

Electronic PCRS

I have a question; We are a small agency that does on an average of 800 calls a year. We are looking to bring our agency up to modern times and go to electronic PCRs. We are looking into these three companies:
EmsCharts
Zoll Epcrs
Eso Solutions

Does anyone have any idea, what the Pros and Cons are to each of these or preference as to which one is better? Thanks. Keith

Question about prerequisites

I have been in EMS as a first responder for 7 years and now I will be starting to work part time for an ambulance company. I intend to retake Emt basic and get state liscensed, then try to continue on to paramedic and pursue a dream that has proven elusive for the past few years. My question is this, what are the pre-requisites, and can I do them online? If so, where do I go online to do them? If any one could help me out with this, please email me at weldonschmidt@gmail.com Thanks!!

take home pay

Working an EMS job can be a little tricky when it comes to taxes. If you are not careful, you can find yourself Filing Back Taxes for hundreds of dollars. At a recent conference, Event Tents were set up to help EMS workers learn how to account for side jobs, overtime, and regular… Continue
