Frustration...

Recently went on a call with a patient complaining of being cold, flu like symptoms...turns out this patient had recently had a liver transplant, and his body was rejecting it, but his wife never shared this information and he was never asked or offered it, we asked medical history of her while they worked him into the cot to roll, and all we were instructed was slipped discs in his back...probably our own fault for not asking him too but how could you forget a vital piece of information like… Continue

Contradiction In Terms?

I recently delivered a patient to the Emergency Department. There were two staff members receiving the patient, who was a little goofy. In fact, he/she had some aphasia, and was unable to communicate.



One staff member was attaching the monitoring equipment, while the other was entering information into the computer.
