- I have been in the San Antonio Fire Dept. for 29 years, 25 in ems. It has been a very rewarding but being one of the first female hired it was also a very challenging career. I have met a lot of wonderful people who have become my friends. I would not change a thing. Every experience has been a learning one. i have been blessed.
