About Me
Hi everyone. My name is C.B. Garris and in addition to being a Paramedic, I am also the author of M.O.S. - Member of the Service. Formerly a member of NYC EMS (Pre-FDNY), the New York City Emergency Medical Service; one of the largest urban EMS systems in the world, I functioned as not only a clinical practitioner, but as a Assistant Watch Commander/Senior Telecommunications Specialist and 911 operations resource coordinator in the NYC EMS 911 Telecommunications (Command and Control) division. In addition to my professional experience including EMS patient management at large scale 911 operations and 911 Communications and Logistical Operations, firefighting and Tactical EMS/Law Enforcement response; I have managed logistical coordination in response, incident command and supervision of mass casualty incidents including aviation & rapid transit emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, civil disturbances, dignitary visits and acts of terrorism. I also served as a Public Information Officer on numerous high profile incidents within the City of New York.

In addition to my clinical work in the biotechnology world, I still presently work as a 911 Paramedic. I am an alumnus and was President of my class of the Northeastern University Paramedic Program, as well as a graduate of the specialized clinical training program at the Boston University Medical Center Shock/Trauma Unit and Department of Emergency Medicine.
