Thanks for the inspiration Greg! I went ahead and checked out my current fitness level (for pushups). I completed 20 consecutively and then another 60 (in sets of 10) and another 20 (in sets of 5) in 6 minutes 16 seconds.

Better than 1 year ago --- especially after a 3-month off-on relationship with fitness.

Good luck with the marathon, Greg! I ran 3 last year, but haven't been in any this year. I'm running a 1/2M with my martial arts instructor on Thanksgiving day. He's a great motivator!

I'm stalled at week 4... still! Haven't been able to get over this hurdle for the past month or so. I've noticed big changes in my pectoralis major muscles though. Discipline is the key! Whenever I'm bored or feeling sluggish I bang out a set of pushups - gets the blood flowing and the mind working again. Of course, a giant cup of dark roast coffee helps too.

Sound like fun. I will start tonight slow. I think tomorrow I will set a simple goal of 5 sets of 10 throughout the day.

I have not. In fact, somewhere mid week 3, I was distracted. Still hitting the gym consistently -- which is making me stronger. But nope, haven't hit 100 yet.

Maybe this weekend I'll try my max to see where I'm at.
