Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join your group. I was an EMT in NY and really miss working there, I do understand the job shortage for EMT-B's they were short when I was there. I look forward in getting to know all or some of you...

How long does it take before we should know on the status of our pass or fail on the EMT-BLS exam taken on May 21st?

NY has done away with EMT-I course in replace of that they are keeping the EMT-CC course. The EMT-B course is still available same as paramedic. The only problem is they might be short on classes or availability due to county budgets or state funding. That is the only thing that I know if that helps.

No truth to that

I heard through the grapevine that they are going to do away with EMT-BLS and the other steps to Paramedic and have just the Paramedic field in NY, Is this true? Did i work hard for EMT-BLS for nothing? If it's true, when are they going to start the phasing out process? I really don't believe this, because we just had 23 in my class for the EMT-BLS course and there were others refreshing, but I also heard that this was talked about on here before and I missed it. What really is the deal?
