To all my EMS friends. I am sad to say that our medical director and the officers of my squad have determined I am too much of a liability to have on the squad and more or less forced retirement on me due to my right side parkinson's. I regret I can not help my squad anymore, but cherish the 6 years I was an EMT. To all you EMT's out there, keep believing in what you are doing, you make the difference in peoples lives. There are alot of people around because YOU care and are willing to drop everything in a moments notice to answer the call for help. You are all hero's in my book!! I only wish I could be amongst you. I will always be an EMT deep down in my heart. Like a Marine, once an EMT, always an EMT. There are no ex-EMTs. It was the most gratifing job I have ever had. If any of you are having second thoughts about refreshing and need to talk to someone, feel free to ask me!!! mMy e-mail address is: we5zs@bevcomm.net. I'll talk to you and will listen to your every word and try to encourage you. I believe there is not one squad in Minnesota that can stand to lose one EMT. Blow the siren for me sometime!!!. Thank you all my friends. I miss you!!

I can't say anything out of the ordinary! The only thing I would say about our calls lately is we are in MN right. Most people here have lived here their entire lives. We have had our fill of snow and freezing rain lately, why don't people just slow down. We have had many car accident in our area not nessessarily our ambulance area but the county in general. I wish people would jsut wise up and drive safely. Although it would make our job boring. Too many unnessessary injuries. What are your thoughts to this? Do your services see the same thing?

I agree with Bruce. We do this because we can, because we are needed and because there was a much higher calling that asked us to serve. We do not ask for thanks but it is always very much appreciated.

Quick questions; does anyone on the list know where a PHTLS or PEPP courses are being held this winter? I need them to renew my Intermediate rating with the National Registry.
Any assistance will be appreciated!

Sending this out to all my fellow EMT'S. We don't do this for the glamor, the money, or the headlines. We do this because God gave us the ability to want to help people when alot of others wouldn't be able to. We do this because of... the awesome feeling of the "save" and to the crappy feeling of someone we could't save. We do this because of the brother/sister hood that we have with our squads and with even another EMT we will never meet. We do this each and every day because we are humble EMT's, not super people or hero's or gods/godesses or better than anybody else or whatever... Plain and simple-we want to help. Nothing more...
