Do you perceive a shortage of EMTs and/or Paramedics either nationally or in your local area? Is there a difference for rural or urban areas? I was having a discussion the other night with a friend and he brought up these questions so I would like to know how you all feel about it.
In Damascus Twp. we are volunteers and we are short on EMT's or Paramedics or whatever else you want to be called. We have lots of Firefighters but can hardly fill an on call schedule without giving up everyday of the week for that "just in case". It would be great if there were more of us around here.
Damascus Twp is in NW Ohio about 30 miles southwest of Toledo. Our town is McClure.
Isn't it sad that it ALWAYS comes down to money? I feel that MOST of us do this job because we want to help people but yet want to be fairly compensated for our work. I guess this debate will continue...
